List of apple varieties |
Müschen's rose apple is a historic apple variety from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is named after the first Mecklenburg pomologist Franz Hermann Müschen from Belitz .
The variety was already considered lost in the region, until the pomologists Horst Friedrich and Lutz Grope were able to locate a 120 year old tree in the park area of the Kaarz manor near Sternberg . At the same time, further specimens were identified in a tree nursery in the Waldviertel near Vienna .
