Mšeno nad Nisou (German Grünwald an der Neisse ) is a district of the city of Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic . The place is located on the southern slope of the Jizera Mountains and lies on the right bank of the Lusatian Neisse or on the left of the White Neisse .
history
Grünwald was created around 1548 when the Wander family from Crottendorf in the Erzgebirge built a glassworks. The glass- making place was built around the factory on a hill between the valleys of the Neisse and the Grünwald water ( Mšenský potok ). In 1599 the Wander family received a letter of coat of arms from Emperor Rudolf II and has been officially called Wander von Grünwald ever since . Later the hut came to the Preussler family of glassmakers . From the middle of the 19th century, Grünwald formed a community in the judicial district of Gablonz on the Neisse .
Between 1906 and 1909, the Grünwald dam was built east of the village, mainly for flood protection . In 1917 an extensive village chronicle was published.
After the Second World War, the German population was expelled and in the 1970s the former glassmaker's village was built over with a prefabricated housing estate. In 1991 the place had 10247 inhabitants. In 2001 the Mšeno consisted of 637 houses in which 9637 people lived
