MR Krishna

MR Krishna (* 1924 in Trimulgherry , Secunderabad , Hyderabad State , today Andhra Pradesh ) is a former Indian politician of the Indian National Congress (INC), who was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1952 to 1970 and a member of the Rajya Sabha between 1972 and 1982 .

Life

Krishna, who worked as a farmer and entrepreneur, was involved in the "Quit India" movement in 1942 and was arrested for his actions and the organization of youth demonstrations against the then Diwan of Hyderabad , Nawab Sir Muhammad Ahmad Said Khan Chhatari.

After India gained independence from the United Kingdom , Krisha was elected a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, for the Indian National Congress in the first elections held between October 1951 and February 1952 . In the elections in February and March 1957 he was re-elected as a member of the Lok Sabha in the constituency 3 Karimnagar belonging to Andhra Pradesh . Most recently he represented after the elections of February 1962 and his re-election in the elections of February 1967 the constituency 2 Peddapalle, reserved for the Scheduled Castes and also belonging to Andhra Pradesh .

During this time he served in the first government of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from 1967 to 1971 as Deputy Minister for Defense, Industrial Development and International Trade.

On July 19, 1972, Krishna became a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, of which he was a member for almost ten years until April 2, 1982.

His marriage to Saraswati Bai resulted in two sons and a daughter.
