The List of Prime Ministers of India is all prime ministers in one list.

When it gained independence in 1947, India adopted the form of a federal parliamentary republic, with a prime minister at the head of the government and a president as head of state with predominantly representative tasks.

So far, three different parties have been able to provide the Prime Minister of India. Of all previous heads of government, Jawaharlal Nehru was 17 years old in office the longest. He is followed by India's only female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at the age of 16.
