Indian Kumar Gujral
Indian Kumar Gujral (इंद्र कुमार गुज़राल Indr Kumār Guzrāl) (born December 4, 1919 in Jhelam , now part of Pakistan ; † November 30, 2012 in New Delhi ) was an Indian politician and from April 21, 1997 to March 19, 1998 Prime Minister of India for Janata Dal Party .
In 1942 he was imprisoned as a member of the Indian freedom movement. Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister, he held various positions in the communications, information, construction, development and foreign ministries for the Congress Party . During his tenure, he coined the term Gujral Doctrine, which stated that India should make concessions in relations with its Asian neighbors in the interests of better cooperation.
His brother is the artist Satish Gujral .
