The Prime Minister of Qatar ( Arabic رئیس الوزرا القطری) is officially the second most powerful office in the state of Qatar after the emir . He heads the government.

Chalifa bin Hamad Al Thani , the then Emir of Qatar, created this office on May 29, 1970 and held it himself until June 27, 1995. He was ousted by his son Hamad bin Chalifa Al Thani . Abdullah bin Nasser bin Chalifa Al Thani has been the current Prime Minister since June 25, 2013 .
