MDF.1 , the Magdeburger Fernsehen 1 (MDF.1 - Lokales Fernsehen GmbH), is a private television station in Magdeburg .

MDF.1-Fernsehen is a commercial metropolitan TV station in Saxony-Anhalt and broadcasts the latest news from the Magdeburg metropolitan area on a daily basis in the areas of politics , culture , economy , boulevard , sport , weather .

history

On December 1, 1997, MDF.1 started broadcasting from the IGZ Barleben . The license for regular operation was issued on November 28, 2001 by the State Media Authority of Saxony-Anhalt .

At the end of 2006, the station was significantly involved in the Heendorf affair surrounding Magdeburg's CDU city councilor Michael Heendorf . The resulting complaints from the mayor of Magdeburg to the Medienanstalt Sachsen-Anhalt (MSA) were all rejected because the broadcaster had only fulfilled its reporting obligation.

In October 2007, "MDF.1 Lokales Fernsehen Magdeburg GmbH" filed for bankruptcy and ceased broadcasting on December 31, 2007. Since January 1st, 2008 the new license holder of the company "Stefan Richter Audio & Videoservice" has been producing and responsible for the program. The seat in the state capital Magdeburg at Georg-Kaiser-Straße 3 was given up due to bankruptcy. The founding company had originally employed 25 permanent and 15 freelance employees on an area of ​​around 2,500 square meters to create the daily program. The new headquarters are in Welsleben.

MDF.1 operates three playout servers at the most important cable network operators in Magdeburg and Schönebeck and reaches around 130,000 households in these cable networks. The program can be viewed on its own homepage as a video on demand offer. MDF.1 can be loaded onto the mobile phone via the DAILY ME service.
