Michael Heendorf

Michael Heendorf (* 1964 in Magdeburg ; † January 2017 there ) was a German politician ( AfD , previously: PDS , CDU ). He was one of the co-founders of the AfD and was the first state chairman of the Saxony-Anhalt state association .

Private and professional

In the GDR , Heendorf was an employee of the People's Police . However, he was banned from practicing his profession for failing to distance himself from a family member who was caught trying to escape . After the peaceful revolution , Heendorf was able to return to the police force. He was given early retirement due to an illness .

politics

Heendorf was elected to the city ​​council of the state capital Magdeburg in 2004 for the PDS . During the current election period, he then moved to the CDU. In autumn 2012 he resigned from the CDU.

In 2013 Heendorf joined the electoral alternative in 2013 and in February 2013 was a co-founder of the AfD, whose former office in Bad Nauheim he temporarily headed. At the founding meeting of the AfD regional association Saxony-Anhalt in April 2013, he was elected regional chairman. For the 2013 federal election , Heendorf was the top AfD candidate in Saxony-Anhalt. In December 2013 he resigned from his offices and left the AfD; his successor was Arndt Klapproth . Previously, he was in opposition to the then AfD leadership around Bernd Lucke , because, according to his own statements, he had recognized countless constitutional and legal violations as well as authoritarian tendencies of the party.

Heendorf is considered to be the "discoverer" of Frauke Petry . He appointed Petry as the state representative of the 2013 election alternative for the development of party-political structures in Saxony .

He was buried on January 27, 2017 in Magdeburg's Westfriedhof .
