The METAV (metalworking) is a two-yearly international fair for manufacturing technology and automation in Dusseldorf. It is organized by the Association of German Machine Tool Builders (VDW). In 2004 and 2006, the fair was held in quick succession in Düsseldorf and Munich . Since 2008, the METAV has again taken place exclusively in Düsseldorf.

In the past, METAV often took place together with GIFA , the foundry exhibition.

As a mechanical engineering fair, the production technology department will be primary at the fair

displayed.

The date for the 21st METAV was March 10-13, 2020. Due to the extremely dynamic spread of the coronavirus or Covid-19 and the cancellation of major exhibitors, the METAV was postponed by the VDW without naming a replacement date.
