history

The company was founded in 1979 by the Lebanese Mahmoud K. Shakarchi in Geneva. He was previously active in precious metals trading in the Middle East. In 1983 his son Marwan Shakarchi took over the management. It has expanded steadily since then. It has 15 offices in 12 different countries around the world.

With the takeover of Ticino Pamp SA in 1984, MKS Finance entered the precious metal refinery and began to supply trading, investment and central banks with their own gold bars. Over time, the product range was expanded to include other precious metals as well as different sizes and types and the trading and refining activities were supplemented by further services.

PAMP produces precious metal bars ranging in size from 12.5 kilograms down to 1 gram. Each bar is delivered with a certificate of authenticity. PAMP's bar pendants and small bars have embossings on the underside such as flowers , figures from the legendary world and signs of the zodiac . PAMP's most famous motif is Fortuna , the Roman goddess of luck who adorns many products.
