The MSV Mackensen Neustettin was a German military sports club from the Pomeranian city of the same name , today's Szczecinek . The football department played in the first-class Gauliga Pomerania for two years .

history

The founding year of the association has not been passed down. Mackensen Neustettin appeared nationally for the first time in the 1933/34 season , when the club played in the second-class district class Pomerania South Department within the Pomeranian football district and reached second place in the table. 1934/35 still beaten by FC Viktoria Schneidemühl for the district championship, Neustettin succeeded in 1935/36 winning the district class Pomeranian Group South , whereby he qualified for the promotion round to the Gauliga Pommern 1936/37 . This promotion round was successfully contested against MSV Blücher Stolp and VfB 1911 Belgard , so that the club was promoted to the first-class Gauliga Pomerania in 1936/37 .

The first Gauliga season was quite successful for the club, Neustettin was three points behind serial winner Viktoria Stolp second in the division East, where Viktoria Stolp could be beaten 1-0 in the home game. The 1937/38 season was all the worse, Neustettin achieved only two wins and rose back to the district class with seven points from 18 games, finishing last. In 1938 the name was changed to Heeressportverein (HSV) von Mackensen Neustettin , the club withdrew in January 1939 from the district class Grenzmark 1938/39 , probably due to the war . Another game operation is no longer recorded.
