SV Viktoria Stolp - Champion Gauliga Pomerania 1937

The Gauliga Pommern 1936/37 was the fourth season of the Gauliga Pommern of the German Football Association . The Gauliga Pomerania was divided into two groups with seven teams each this season. The respective group winners played the Gaume Championship in finals. For the third time, SV Viktoria Stolp won the Gau championship against the police SV Stettin and qualified for the German soccer championship 1936/37 . In this, the stumbling blocks of group B, FC Schalke 04 , Werder Bremen and Hertha BSC were the group opponents.

Since the Gauliga was played in a group in the next season and limited to ten participants, additional qualifying games were necessary.

Promotion round / qualifiers

The champions of the six second-rate district classes East, Middle, Northeast, Stettin, South and West were qualified for the promotion round. Three teams each then competed against each other in two groups in a round-robin tournament with a return leg, the two group winners should be promoted to the Gauliga for the coming season. It was later decided to merge the Gauliga seasons for the coming season. Since these should only contain ten teams, additional qualifying games were necessary. The fifth-placed clubs of both Gauliga squadrons and the best sixth-placed team of both seasons played together with the winners of the two promotion rounds for two free places for the single-track Gauliga in the coming year. In the end MSV Graf Schwerin Greifswald (promoted) and MTV Pommerensdorf (league stay) prevailed.
