Martinus Josephus Franciscus Maria Hoenen (born October 4, 1957 in Hoensbroek ) is a Dutch philosopher .

Life

At the Universiteit Nijmegen he earned a doctoral degree (philosophy) in 1983, doctoral degree (theology) in 1988 and a doctorate (philosophy) in 1989 . At the Universiteit Nijmegen , Philosophical Faculty, he taught 1984–1989 / 1990–1997 Assistant Professor, 1997–2002 Associate Professor (UD), 2001–2002 Associate Professor (UHD) and 2003–2006 as Professor of the History of Medieval Theology and Philosophy. In 1990 he was Assistant Professor at the Catholic Theological University of Amsterdam . From 2002 to 2004 he taught as a professor of philosophy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven . From 2004 to 2013 he taught at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg as a professor of philosophy (C 4). From 2013 to 2017 he was Vice Rector for Teaching and Development at the University of Basel . Since 2013 he has been Professor of Philosophy with a focus on Antiquity and the Middle Ages in Basel .
