MacDonnell Road ( Chinese  麥當勞 道 , Pinyin mài dāng láo dào , Yale mak 6 dong 1 lou 4 dou 6 , formerly 麥 當 奴 道 ) is a street in the mid-levels of Hong Kong . It is considered one of the most expensive addresses in the Central Mid-levels, along with Old Peak Road , Magazine Gap Road , Tregunter Path , Bowen Road , Borett Road and May Road .

Names

The street is named after Hong Kong Governor Richard Graves MacDonnell . Today's Canton Road in Tsim Sha Tsui was also originally called MacDonnell Road . It has been renamed to avoid confusion.

Macdonnell Road begins on Garden Road , runs west in the mid-levels and ends in Kennedy Road , to which it also runs partially parallel. The street is about 100  m . Magazine Gap Road and Bowen Road run above.

In the street is the seat of the Office of the Commissioner of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The People's Republic of China in Hong Kong ( 中華人民共和國 外交部 駐 香港特別行政區 特派員 公署 ). The Peak Tram hits the road near St. Paul's Co-educational College ( 聖保羅 男女 中學 ).

In addition to the Peak Tram, MacDonnell Road can also be reached with Citybus route 12A from Admiralty and Public light bus route 1A from Star Ferry in Central .
