Machangyuan site

Machangyuan ( Chinese  马 厂 塬 遗址 , Pinyin Mǎhǎnyuán yízhǐ , English Machangyuan Site  - "Machangyuan site") is an archaeological site of the late Neolithic on the upper reaches of the Yellow River (Huang He) in the Minhe Autonomous County of Hui and Tu in northwest China's province Qinghai . The site was formerly part of the Majiayao culture , today it is part of the Banshan Machang culture .

It was first discovered in the autumn of 1924 and, according to archaeological investigations, dates from 2200 to 2000 BC. Dated.

It has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-191) since 1988 .
