Usine's Delin
Usines Delin was a Belgian manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles from the Belgian city of Leuven , the capital of the province of Flemish Brabant .
Company history
J. Delin started a company in 1890 to manufacture bicycles under the name Derby . From 1898 the company traded as Usines Delin. Société Anonyme, Fabrique d'Automobiles et de Cycles . The first car was created in 1899. In January 1902 the company went into liquidation and was taken over by competitor Mathieu .
vehicles
In March 1899, the first car was exhibited at an exhibition in Brussels . It had a two-cylinder engine from the French company Loyal , a friction gear and the Duc body shape. This was followed in 1900 by a Victoria Combination voiturette , a tricycle with a 2.5 hp engine and a motorcycle with a 1.75 hp engine. From 1901 there were four models: a two-seater Voiturette with a 2.75 hp engine, a four-seater with a 4 hp engine, a four-seater tonneau with an 8 hp engine and a delivery van with a 4 hp engine.
Three vehicles still exist today: One in the Smålands Bil-, Musik och Leksamsmuseum in Rydaholm, Sweden, one in the Museo del Automóvil in Uruguay , and one in the hands of a Belgian collector who occasionally uses the vehicle at the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run .
