Van Clee was a Belgian manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company from Egem-Pittem started producing automobiles in 1978. The vehicles were also exported to Italy . Production ended in 1996.

VW-based vehicles

The Highway model was a buggy and was based on the chassis of the VW Beetle . VW engines with either 1600 cm³ or 2000 cm³ displacement provided the drive .

Citroën based vehicles

The 600 Mungo , Ernet , Ernu and Rusler models were based on the chassis of the Citroën 2 CV . The original two - cylinder boxer engine with a capacity of 602 cm³ drove the front wheels. The vehicles had a plastic body and either a textile top or a hardtop for the rear of the vehicle. The 600 Mungo was 25 cm shorter than a Citroën Méhari .
