The Société Anonyme des Automobiles Springuel was a Belgian manufacturer of automobiles from Huy .

Company history

In 1902, Jules Springuel-Wilmotte began building prototypes. It was not until 1907 that he founded the Société Anynome des Automobiles Springuel . Production ended in 1920.

The first series model, the 24/30 CV , was built by 1910. It was powered by a four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3770 cm³ and was offered, among other things, in the double phaeton body shape . In 1908 the two four-cylinder models 16 CV with 3054 cm³ displacement and 28/35 CV with 4589 cm³ displacement were added. In 1911 the model 12 CV appeared with a displacement of 2121 cm³. 1912 did the merger with its competitor Imperia , and Jules Springuel-Wilmotte was director at Imperia. From then on, the Springuel models were marketed as Springuel-Imperia . From 1913 until the outbreak of World War I , the range consisted of the following five models:

  • 12/14 CV , four-cylinder engine, 2121 cm³ displacement
  • 16/20 CV , four-cylinder engine, 3054 cm³ displacement
  • 18/24 CV , four-cylinder engine, 3562 cm³ displacement, including a four-seater torpedo body
  • 20/24 CV , four-cylinder engine, 3562 cm³ displacement
  • 28/35 CV , four-cylinder engine, 5026 cm³ displacement

In 1920 some 18/24 CV were assembled from existing parts.
