Machiel (Jakob Pieter) Bosman (born 1972 in Putten ) is a Dutch historian and writer .

biography

Machiel Bosman went to school in Oegstgeest and Rotterdam . After a year abroad in Exeter , he studied psychology (without a degree) and from 1994 to 1998 history at the University of Amsterdam . During his studies he had the idea for two books that he wanted to write: a chronicle by Jacob Bicker Raije and a book about the invasion of England by Prince William III of Orange . He then also wrote both books.

After graduation, he worked as a doctoral candidate at the Law Faculty of the University of Amsterdam, at the Institute for Social History and as a freelance writer. In 2006 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the orphanage in Culemborg (Het weeshuis van Culemborg).
