Maciej Szczęsny (born June 28, 1965 in Warsaw , Poland ) is a former Polish football player and today's television commentator.

Career

Club career

Maciej Szczęsny learned to play football at Gwardia Warszawa in the WKS Gwardia Warszawa stadium in the Polish capital. Here he played from 1983 to 1987 in the 2nd division. In 1987 he moved to the top Polish club Legia Warszawa . Here he played from 1987 to 1996 and during this time won the Polish Championship twice and the Polish Cup three times with Legia. In 1996 he moved to Widzew Łódź . He also won the Polish championship once with Widzew. In 1998 he left the club in the direction of Polonia Warszawa .

Even at Polonia, his success remained true to him. He won the Polish Championship and the Polish Supercup. From 2001 to 2002 he played for Wisła Kraków . Here he won the Polish Championship and the Polish League Cup for the fifth time. Szczęsny played in the Champions League with Legia Warszawa and Widzew Łódź .
