The Mackellar Glacier is a large glacier in the Queen Alexandra chain of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It flows from Mount Mackellar in a northerly direction along the eastern flank of Hampton Ridge to the Lennox King Glacier .
Participants of a campaign carried out from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it in connection with the mountain of the same name after Campbell Duncan Mackellar (1859-1925), a private donor in support of the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909) British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton .
