Madhav Khandekar

Madhav Khandekar is a former environmental and climate scientist , who is best known for the man-made global warming to deny . He maintains close ties to various organizations in the organized climate change denial scene .

Life

Khandekar studied statistics at the University of Pune and then meteorology at Florida State University . He has worked in the field of weather and climate for almost 50 years, including at Environment and Climate Change Canada , and edited a number of publications and books. He is one of the external reviewers of the fourth IPCC assessment report , AR4. After retiring, he continues to work on the editorial staff of the Journal of Natural Hazards ( Kluwer , Netherlands ).

He is a member of the American Meteorological Society , the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, and the American Geophysical Union .

Denial of man-made global warming

Khandekar is connected to a number of climate denial organizations, he is sometimes referred to as a climate skeptic. From Khandekar's point of view, global warming does not pose a threat to humanity. In 2013, he prepared a report on global warming and weather extremes on behalf of the British think tank Global Warming Policy Foundation (whose aim is to avoid alleged overreactions to global warming). According to his assessment, an increase in extreme weather conditions has not yet been proven, it is a matter of " media hype ". Khandekar is also listed as an expert by the Heartland Institute , which is at the forefront of the climate denial scene, and receives from him a monthly payment of $ 1,000. He is also a member of the Science Advisory Board of the International Climate Science Coalition .
