Madilu System (born Jean De Dieu Bilau ; born May 28, 1952 , † August 11, 2007 ) was a singer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . He was known as the "Congolese king of rumba ".

biography

Madilu became a professional musician in Kinshasa at the age of 19 . He played with Sam Mangwanas Festival of Maquisards , had his own Orchester Baquba Mayopiin , but was only in the 1980s with the formation TP OK Jazz of Franco known with which he often sang in a duet, in larger circles. After his death, Madilu went solo. In recent years he has also sung with Pépé Kallé, Nyboma Mwan-dido, M'bilia Bel and Josky Kiambukuta. With the Congolese super group Kékélé he recorded the album "Tapale".

Madilu suffered from diabetes . He died in 2007; the funeral in Kinshasa was attended by thousands of supporters. After Madilu's death, the country's radio stations played his titles continuously.
