Mady Delvaux-Stehres (born October 11, 1950 in Luxembourg City ) is a Luxembourg politician.

Mady Delvaux-Stehres studied classical literature at the Sorbonne and then worked as a teacher until 1989.

She has been a member of the LSAP since 1974 . From 1985 to 1989 she was a member of the party's Comité directeur .

In 1987 she was elected to the Luxembourg City Council. In 1994 she received her first mandate in the Chambre des Députés , but left as a member of the government. In 1999 she was re-elected to the Chambre and remained a member until 2004.

From 1989 to 1994 she was State Secretary for Health, Social Security, Youth and Sport. After the 1994 elections , she became Minister of Communications, Transport and Social Security. From 2004 to the end of 2013 she was Minister for Education and Vocational Training.

In 2014 she was chosen as the LSAP's top candidate for the European elections . The LSAP lost significantly and became only the fourth strongest force in Luxembourg. Delvaux-Stehres still won a mandate in the European Parliament . She decided not to run again for the 2019 European elections .

Delvaux-Stehres is widowed and has three children.
