Magda Seron , stage name Magda (born August 28, 1956 in Brussels ) is a Belgian cartoonist.

Live and act

Magda Seron wanted to be a cartoonist when she was young. After familiarizing herself with the various painting and drawing techniques, she first worked in advertising. In 1977 she moved to Namur and joined Edouard Aidans' studio . There she initially did auxiliary work such as lettering and ink work. During this time she also drew her first comic, Tumak , which appeared in the newspaper Vers l'avenir .

After getting to know Chris Lamquet , she drew a story for the series François Silence based on his text for Tremplin magazine . This story about two ecologists was a preliminary stage for the series Gilles Roux et Marie Meuse , which both authors produced for the weekly Tintin from 1980 . What was remarkable about this series was that the two main characters looked like their authors. From 1985 to 1988 Lombard released four albums in the series. In 1989 Magda moved to Dupuis . For this publisher, Magda drew her most successful series to date with Charly based on texts by Denis Lapière . Up to 2007, 13 album-length stories were created here. Some of these stories were previously preprinted in Spirou magazine . In this series about Charly, who is equipped with paranormal powers, the main character ages during the course of the series. If Charly is still a little boy in the first story, in the last volume he is almost an adult. The series was so successful that its first parts were filmed in 2005 by Cédric Kahn under the title L'Avion - Das Zauberflugzeug (OT: L'avion ).

In 2009 Magda returned to Lombard and published the One Shot Les petits adieux based on a text by Marvano . She then created the three-part Cavale with Frank Giroud for his Secrets series . Magda is currently working with Stephen Desberg on his Sherman series .
