Magdalene Söldner (* 1959 in Essen ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Since 1977 she has been studying Classical Archeology, Ancient History and Art History at the Universities of Bonn , Munich and Bern . In 1985 she received her doctorate from Nikolaus Himmelmann in Bonn . In 1985/86 she received a travel grant from the German Archaeological Institute . She then worked until 1989 as a research assistant at the commission for the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum for the processing of a volume for the Academic Art Museum of the University of Bonn. From 1989 to 1991 she worked on the editorial team of the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin, before becoming a scientific assistant at the in 1991University of Kiel was. Her habilitation took place here in 1997. From 1997 to 2001 she was senior assistant in Kiel before becoming professor of classical archeology at the University of Münster in 2001 .

Her main areas of research are ancient sculpture and iconography as well as Greek and sub-Italian ceramics.
