Magdalene Seebe
Magdalene Seebe (born February 22, 1881 in Leipzig , † after 1928) was a German opera singer with a soprano voice .
Life
Magdalene Seebe studied singing at the Leipzig Conservatory . From 1898 to 1904 she was engaged at the Leipzig Opera House , where she made her debut in the title role of Undine by Albert Lortzing . In 1902 she sang the role of Elektra in the world premiere of the opera Orestes by Felix Weingartner . In 1905 she went to the Dresden Court Opera . There she sang the second maid in 1909 in the world premiere of Elektra by Richard Strauss . She was a popular guest singer in Weimar, Braunschweig, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin, Breslau and Mannheim, and was also a concert singer a. a. successful in Vienna.
After their marriage in 1917, she withdrew from the stage. The last proof of this was in Hanover in 1928.
