The house Magdalenenstrasse 3 (formerly: Ballonplatz 10 ) is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 3 was built in the 16th century . Stylistically, the building belongs to the Renaissance . The house comes from the first phase of construction on Ballonplatz and was destroyed in the Second World War. After the war the building was rebuilt. The cellar with a partially preserved cross vault made of hand-painted bricks from the 16th century has been preserved. The wall with the segment arch gate has also been preserved . The plastered house has three window axes and a Renaissance gable .
Monument protection
The house at Magdalenenstrasse 3 is a typical example of the renaissance style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city history reasons, the building is considered a cultural monument .
