history

The band started in 2005 as a duo consisting of Timo Kontion and Janne Manninen, who already knew each other from their collaboration on ... And Oceans . As a starting point, they orientated themselves on the 1995 material of this group. In the following time she wrote the first songs. In 2009 the line-up was expanded with the addition of guitarist Timo Hanhikangas and bassist Jonas Frilund. Then four songs were created. In the following year Mathias Lillmåns, who works at Finntroll , among others , was added. A short time later, the band went into the studio to record the aforementioned four songs that made up the demo A Familiar Room . In 2011 the second demo Apparition of Ending was recorded, with Aleksi Virta from Finntroll playing the keyboard and controlling other noises. In 2014 the debut album Volatile Waters was released via Inverse Records .

style

Matthias Salomon from bloodchamber.de wrote in his review of Volatile Waters that you can hear pure and pure Death Metal on it. However, he found that it sounded like something went wrong in the production, because the music is bass-heavy and there is too little treble, which creates a blurry overall sound. The “powerful riffs and [the] groovy rhythms” are characteristic of the album . However, it is not for people who like "precise instruments and clearly defined growls and screams ". Overall, they go towards classic Death Metal of the 1990s, with the use of keyboards being a more modern element. Marcos "The Jungle Guy" from metal-temple.com also reviewed the album. Then Death Metal can be heard, which is not only fast and aggressive, but also contains melodic passages. The guitars sound typical of Finnish Death Metal, but would also process influences from Swedish representatives. The bass and the drums are technically demanding, the vocals consist of growling.
