Carnalation is a Finnish deathgrind band from Seinäjoki that was formed in 2008.

history

The band was formed in 2008 on Provinssirock in Seinäjoki. At the beginning of 2009 a first self-titled demo was recorded. This was followed by appearances, with the group also being seen at the Provinssirock, the Nummirock Metal Festival and in the Rytmikorjaamo club . In May and June 2010 the EP Doomsday Diaries was recorded, which was named demo of the month in the Finnish magazine Inferno . Spinefarm Records' label manager Teemu Suominen heard the EP in December 2010 and signed the band in March 2011. In the summer of 2011 Carnalation went on tour through Finland, with the group also taking part in the Provinssirock, the Ilosaarirock , the Qstock and the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . Towards the end of the summer she went to the Soundwall Studio , where the album Deathmask was recorded under the direction of Peter Tägtgren . It was released in February 2012, and a video for the song Cadence of Insects was also released. 2015 closed over Inverse Records by Arttu Hakanen recorded, mastered and remixed EP Ghosts on.

style

Pascal Stieler from metal1.info wrote in his review of Deathmask that you can hear quickly played Deathgrind in the style of Misery Index or Molotov Solution . Here the use of blast beats is characteristic, whereby these are varied with different rhythms. This with'll combines Tremolo - picking melodies and vocals that is highly variable for the genre. The song Cataclysm Catharsis is reminiscent of Beneath the Massacre through its "technical gimmicks" . In songs like I Am God and Apathy Patterns , influences from hardcore punk can be seen, which can be heard from the breakdowns used . Omega Hour processed black metal influences. Satan Spawn from metalgallows.com also assigned the Ghosts EP, which for him is characterized by unusual and intelligent songwriting, to the Deathgrind. In addition to distinctive riffs and grooves, a melody creeps in at the beginning of every song, which manifests itself in the course of it. All in all the music is a mixture of the brutality of Misery Index and the song structure in the style of Gojira , of which the song Against the Burning Sky is the best example. Plain singing is used in the song Prometheus .
