Maggie Björklund (2020)

Maggie Björklund is a Danish guitarist . She first played the electric guitar as a studio musician as well as in the women's band The Borens and for the experimental pop band Miss B Haven , before embarking on a solo career with the pedal steel guitar . To this end, she composes, plays and sings as a singer-songwriter music that can be located in the genre of folk and alt-country .

life and work

Björklund was born in Denmark and grew up in Copenhagen . She began her career as a professional musician as a studio guitarist in Hollywood, including for Jack White , with whom she also toured. Together with her country band The Kredit she got a record deal from Sony in Denmark . In 2011 she switched from electric guitar to pedal steel and released her first solo album. In 2011 and 2012 she performed on South by Southwest . Their melancholy music, which is reminiscent of spaghetti westerns and folk, was described as " psychedelic desert pop", "... the sound after the gunfight".
