Maghama ( Arabic مغامة, DMG Maġāma ) or Maghana is a city and department in the Gorgol region of Mauritania .
geography
The department is located in the south of the country and borders Senegal in the south . To the north, the Kaedi and M'Bout departments connect in the same region , while the Sélibaby department in the Guidimaka region connects to the east . The city itself lies on the Ouod Garfan River (وادي كارفا), a tributary of Senegal .
population
The Tukulor reside in the region . In 2013 there were 11,245 inhabitants.
