Magnis Ridge is a rocky mountain ridge in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises 2.5 km west of Derrick Peak and forms the watershed between the Magnis Valley and the Metaris Valley .
A geological team from the University of Waikato , who worked in this area between 1978 and 1979, named it based on the name of the valley of the same name. Its namesake is the Magnis fort from Roman times in Northumbria .
