The Derrick Peak is a 2,070 m high, distinctive and ice-free mountain in the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains . It rises three miles west of the northern end of Johnstone Ridge above the southern flank of Hatherton Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1965 after Robert O. Derrick of the United States Weather Bureau , who was assistant to the representative of the United States Antarctic Research Program in Christchurch , New Zealand , from 1960 until his death in 1966 .
