Magnus Berg (born November 28, 1666 in Romsdal , Norway , † March 31, 1739 ) was a Norwegian painter and ivory carver .

In 1690, he came at the invitation of the Danish King Christian V of Denmark . This promoted his activity as a painter and enabled him to stay in Paris and Rome in the years 1694–1698. A year later he returned to Denmark, where he could live in the Palace of Frederiksborg and also received a royal salary.

Berg was not outstanding as a painter, he was only famous in Europe for his ivory work.

Works by him can still be seen today in the royal Danish collection in Rosenborg Castle .
