The magnussoft Germany GmbH is a pan-European publisher and software developer of computer games based in Kesselsdorf in Dresden . Outside of Europe, magnussoft acts exclusively as a developer and leaves the publishing to other companies.

Magnussoft became known primarily through the purchase of licenses for software that was originally programmed for 8-bit home computers from the 1980s: the Commodore 64 , Commodore Amiga , Atari XL / XE and the Atari ST . The general series Retro-Classix and special versions that only covered certain systems, such as Amiga Classix or C64 Classix, appeared . From the compilation of software for the Amiga, four successor products were released up to 2008.

In the past ten years, the company has published more than 160 titles from the categories adventure , board and brain games to shooters - as well as applications and educational software . This includes both in-house developments and licensed productions that are marketed under various labels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, France, Great Britain and the United States of America.

Magnussoft has established itself on the market in both the middle and lower price segments and works with long-term sales partners such as ak tronic Software & Services , Koch Media and the Weltbild publishing group . In addition, magnussoft founded two further branches in other parts of Europe.

The level of awareness within Germany can most likely be traced back to ZETA , the wide range of retro games and classics such as Aquanoid, Barkanoid or Plot's.
