Mahesh Motiramani

Mahesh Motiramani (born  February 19, 1954 in Bombay , †  April 17, 2008 in Munich ) was a German writer and literary scholar of Indian descent.

Motiramani came to Hamburg in 1959. After graduating from high school, he first studied Slavic studies there and received his doctorate in 1982 on the function of literary quotations and allusions in Aleksandr Solzenicyn's prose .

His literary role models were Daniil Charms and Nikolai Wassiljewitsch Gogol . He achieved fame with his short prose volume Die Blumenbombe , published in 2004 . His last place of work was the Goethe Institute in Munich.

He died of cancer on April 17, 2008.
