The Mahindra Renault Logan was assembled from May 2007 to February 2010 and was the only model under the trademark of the Mahindra-Renault joint venture.

Mahindra Renault Pvt. Ltd. is a former automobile company from the city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra in India .

history

The company was founded in October 2005 by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited , which held a 51 percent stake, and the Renault-Nissan Alliance. With an investment of 45 million rupees , Allianz built a new plant in Chennai . In February 2010 the joint venture was given up due to the consolidation of the dealer networks of Nissan and Renault . The successor company is called Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.

The plant, under the direction of Chief Executive Officer Nalin Mehta , was able to assemble up to 50,000 vehicles a year. The company's only model was the Mahindra Renault Logan, launched in May 2007 . Since the end of the joint venture, it has been assembled by Mahindra and sold as Mahindra Verito . However, Renault continues to supply the vehicle parts required for assembly.

The assembly plant in Nashik , also located in the state of Maharashtra, was managed by the Mahindra Group, the owner of the plant premises. Mahindra Renault was just the brand name that was used for the local market (" badge engineering "). This was intended to draw attention to the cooperation between the two groups on the Indian market. Often times, because of the name used by the joint venture, the company is incorrectly stated as the manufacturer of the Mahindra Renault Logan.

In addition to the plant, the company also owned the Integrated Logistics Network spare parts store, which opened in June 2008, and the Renault DeSign Studio in Mumbai, which opened in September 2008 . In May 2009, the Renault Nissan Technology and Business Center s in Chennai was inaugurated, which also belonged to Mahindra Renault. Today these branches are all part of the successor company.
