Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi

Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi (born September 18, 1950 ; died September 25, 2010 ) was a Pakistani lawyer, Islamic scholar of sharia and fiqh, and university professor.

Live and act

Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi was born on September 18, 1950. He passed his Dars-i Nizami exam (“equal to MA Arabic and Islamic Studies”) in 1966. He obtained his MA in Arabic in 1972 from Punjab University , Lahore . He received his PhD in Oriental Learning from Punjab University in 1988. He obtained certificates in Arabic , Persian and French and published in English , Urdu and Arabic.

Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi was a professor at the International Islamic University , Faisal Masjid Complex, Islamabad , the Islamic Social Sciences Department he headed, and was since 2010 Ulema-judge of the Federal Shariat Court ( Federal Shariat Court ). He was President of the International Islamic University in Islamabad and Minister of Religious Affairs of his country.

Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi held a variety of offices and traveled to many countries. He left behind a number of unpublished and unfinished works. He was one of the signatories of the Amman Message ( Amman Message ).
