Mahmoud Abu Zeid

Mahmoud Abu Zeid ( Arabic محمود أبو زيد, DMG Maḥmūd Abū Zaid ; * 1935 in al-Buhaira ) is an Egyptian politician .

Life

Mahmoud Abu Zeid received his PhD in Groundwater Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 1962 . He was chairman of the World Water Forum and the INP Council of the World Meteorological Organization . From 1973 to 1975 he headed the technical office of the Ministry of Irrigation. From 1979 to 1997 he headed the Egyptian water research institute. From 2005 to 2009 he chaired the council of the African Water Facility (AWF), the African development bank .

Mahmoud Abdel A. Abou Zeid is married, has two sons, is the author of six books and 96 scientific articles.

He joined the government of Atif Muhammad Nagib Sidqi in July 1997 , was in the first Ganzuri cabinet , in the Abaid cabinet and in the second Nazif cabinet .
