Maik Brüggemeyer

Maik Brüggemeyer (* 1976 in Riesenbeck ) is a German journalist , critic , translator and author .

Life

Brüggemeyer studied politics, communication and applied cultural sciences in Münster . In 2001 he became editor of the German edition of Rolling Stone . Brüggemeyer writes there on music, literature and film. As a freelance writer, he reviews for the program “Büchermarkt” on Deutschlandfunk literature.

In 2011 his debut novel Das Da-Da-Da-Sein was published by Aufbau Verlag . In it he describes the breakdown of a relationship, underpinned by philosophical and musical quotations. Brüggemeyer's second novel Catfish (2015) playfully deals with the fictional character Bob Dylan.

In 2017, Brüggemeyer's German translation of the memoirs by Go-Betweens songwriter Robert Forster , Grant & Ich was published . 2018 he published his first fiction book, I've Been Looking For Peace: A German Story in ten songs in which he based on popular songs like Capri-Fischer , Franz Josef Degenhardt's German Sunday , Nena's 99 Luftballons or Looking For Freedom in the interpretation by David Hasselhoff tells the story of the Federal Republic of Germany .
