Maik Eckhardt (born June 4, 1970 in Berghausen , Siegen-Wittgenstein district ) is a German marksman .

In 1992 he won the World Cup lying down in the free weapon discipline in Munich . In 1998 he won it again with the air rifle .

Eckardt was a participant in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing .

In Athens Eckhardt reached the finals in two disciplines and took 5th place with the air rifle and 6th place in the small bore rifle.

In 2012 he qualified for his fifth Olympiad in a row and started in the small-bore competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There he finished 21st in the three-position battle and 37th while lying down.

He is the owner of a company based in Dortmund that develops accessories for sport shooters and sells computer-based training systems.
