Maik Schott

Maik Schott (* 1969 in Gevelsberg ) is a German jazz keyboarder and music producer.

Career

Schott took organ lessons in his childhood before switching to the piano at the age of eighteen. He studied jazz piano at the Arnhem Conservatory, where he had the opportunity to work with musicians such as Michel van Schie , René Creemers and Martin Verdonk , and was awarded the Berklee College of Music Award .

He was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra from 1992 to 1994 and worked as a concert and studio musician. In 2002 he became a member of the band Dick Brave and the Backbeats around the musician Sasha , with whom he recorded the album Dick This . He took part in television appearances, concerts and tours of the band.

In 2004 he was keyboardist for the Claus Fischer & Electric Ladyband on the late night show Anke Late Night . In 2008 he accompanied the actress and singer Sabrina Ascacibar on her solo program Ahoi , which u. a. at the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg and at the Theater Bremen .

Since 2011, Schott has been the pianist and keyboardist in Roger Cicero's big band . He can also be heard with monoPunk 2013 on Max Mutzke's live album .
