Herbert Landauer

Herbert Landauer (born June 23, 1904 in Munich ; † June 28, 1984 ) was a German architect and construction clerk at the Post Building School .

Act

Herbert Landauer studied architecture from 1923 to 1927 at the Technical University of Munich under German Bestelmeyer . He then worked for three years as a trainee lawyer under Robert Vorhoelzer at the Oberpostdirektion Munich , for which he built numerous post offices. In 1930 he became a government master builder ( assessor ) and won a prize for a design for the Ramersdorf model estate . In the early 1930s, he also volunteered for the Bavarian Arts and Crafts Association in Munich.

After the Nazi regime came to power , Landauer was transferred to the Reich Aviation Ministry in Berlin , where he was the deputy head of the construction department and was responsible for all Luftwaffe buildings in Bavaria, Württemberg and Baden. From 1935 to 1937 he was involved in setting up the construction department in the Munich Air District Command (= Luftkreis V ) and worked on numerous large construction sites for the Air Force. In 1937 he moved to Berlin and became head of the air force construction department for Brandenburg, Mecklenburg and Pomerania. In 1938 he was promoted to senior government building officer. In 1939 he taught as senior director of studies at the Munich trade school in Luisenstrasse. From 1939 to 1941 he was in military service; from 1941 to 1946 he worked again as senior director at the trade school. After the court proceedings in 1946, he was allowed to resume teaching in 1947 and stayed at the trade school until his retirement in 1961.
