The Maintal jams GmbH is a food manufacturer based in the Lower Franconian Hassfurt . The family company produces and sells jams , jellies , fruit spreads and jams and is considered the oldest jam manufacturer in Bavaria and the market leader in Germany.
history
In 1886, Josef Müller founded a wholesaler for vegetables and regional products and initially traded mainly in tea , herbs , dried fruit and honeysuckle .
After the end of the First World War , the trade in dried fruit was banned and the company concentrated on the production of jams. In 1933, Rudolf Müller, the founder's son, built a new plant, the company's current headquarters, in Haßfurter Industriestrasse. In 1954, his son Helmut Müller joined the management team and took over all of it. At that time, the company was also producing canned fruit and fruit syrups in addition to jams and marmalades .
In 1989, Anne Feulner and Klaus Hammelbacher, who lived in Versbach and had attended X-ray high school in Würzburg , joined the company as the fourth generation and took over management in 1999. A realignment followed with the first organic line , which was launched in 2000.
