Maira (daughter of Atlas)
Maira ( Greek Μαῖρα ), daughter of Atlas and wife of Tegeates , is a figure in Greek mythology .
Her sons were Leimon and Skephros . Leimon killed his brother because he suspected him of slandering Apollon , and was in turn shot by Artemis . The parents tried in vain to appease the gods. After the Arcadian myth are - in contrast to the Cretan well - Kydon , Archedios and Gortys named as sons of tegeates and Maira.
Tegeates and Maira were given a tomb on the market square of Tegea . However, the inhabitants of Mantineia Maira's grave also claimed for themselves, as there was a village named after the Atlas daughter near their city.
