Leimon ( Greek Λειμών ), son of Tegeates and Maira , is a figure in Greek mythology .
When Apollon and Artemis came to the Tegeatic land to judge everyone who had once refused their mother Leto admission, Skephros , Leimon's brother, went to see Apollon in secret. Leimon suspected him of slander and killed his brother, which aroused the anger of Artemis: She shot Leimon and the country was ravaged by drought.
The parents Tegeates and Maira tried in vain to appease the gods. The Delphic Oracle finally advised weeping for Skephros. Since then, every year on the occasion of the celebration in honor of Apollon Agyieus, the escape and persecution of Leimons has been represented by a priestess of Artemis.
