Makadi Bay
Makadi Bay , Arabic خليج مكادي, DMG Chalīǧ Makādī , is a bay and a resort on the Egyptian Riviera on the Red Sea in Egypt .
Location and infrastructure
Makadi Bay is about 30 kilometers south of Hurghada , and just as far north of Safaga . The purely touristic settlement is located on about 4 kilometers of coastline on a bay and its southern foothills. To the north is Sahl Ḥaschīsch , south of Sharm el Naga .
The bay forms the mouth of a wadi . Upstream are coral reefs and Giftun Island . In the center of the bay there is a gently sloping sandy beach. The Arabian Desert begins directly behind the hotel complex .
The place consists almost exclusively of around 20 larger hotel / resort and club complexes . About 3 kilometers west of the interior of the country, trunk road 24 passes along the Red Sea coast. The Madinat Makadi Golf Resort golf course extends there . Along the road there are other tourist facilities, such as the water park Makadi Bay Water World and the Dolphinarium Dolphin World .
Others
The shell snail Eucithara makadiensis is named after the bay , which was first described by Kilburn & Dekker in 2008 and is assigned to the family Mangeliidae .
