The Makario Stadium ( Greek Μακάρειο Στάδιο ) is a multifunctional stadium in Nicosia , Nicosia District , Cyprus . It was the largest and the main stadium in the city until the GSP stadium was built in 1999. Currently it is mostly used for football matches and is the home stadium of Digenis Akritas Morphou , Doxa Katokopia , Olympiakos Nicosia and Ethnikos Assia . The stadium has a capacity of 16,000 seats. The playing field is surrounded by a tartan track and can be used for athletics events.

The Cyprus Cup 2017 took place here.
