The Malacca River ( Malay Sungai Melaka ) is a river in Malaysia , which in Malacca in the Straits of Malacca joins. The river arises near Tampin on the edge of a mountainous region. It flows partly meandering in a largely southward direction, divides at Malacca into two larger arms, both of which flow into the Strait of Malacca at a distance of about 5 km.

The Malacca River was an important trade route during the time of the Sultanate of Malacca . Tourist boat trips take place on the river these days.
